Frequently Asked Questions

  • Rios Racing tunes with shops all across the nation, so if a particular shop utilizes a dyno, or you just want to see a dyno number we will be glad to supply dyno support

however, in most circumstances we prefer to utilize street and track tuning. You cannot accurately calibrate a vehicle with inaccurate data. Often times when on a dyno the load being applied to the driveline as well as the airflow across the vehicle/through the engine bay is nowhere near real world conditions which can have drastic effects on the airflow and timing models. So normally when a car is dyno tuned it needs to be retuned on the street, and we dont like wasting your time and money.

  • Once an appointment time is set, we prefer the vehicle is dropped off the day before, or the morning of the appointment so that we can get your vehicle ready to be worked on immediately.

  • In general, pick up time is within 24 hours of appointment for tuning services. However the tuning schedule can be impacted by issues with the vehicle or weather as we do street drive to optimize the calibration and we do not rush the process when faced with adverse situations. We try out best to hold a timeline, but we focus on quality over quantity

In addition, if extraneous work needs to be completed, and we obtain customer approval, a 125/hr labor rate is added to the invoice along with the additional parts and services needed.

  • We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity, so cost depends on the year, make, model, modifications, and application.

  • Small calibration adjustments for minor modification changes are 200. For large modifications that require a full re-tune, prices will be provided by the specialist. Please reach out to us.

Retune rates only apply to work that was previously completed by our shop.

  • For cars that will be with us for over a week, are custom projects or need multiple levels of work done, we require parts and 1/2 labor up front. The remaining labor costs will be due upon pick up.

If a "standard" tune or hourly appointment becomes a lengthy project due to parts required, extensive needs, etc., we reserve the right to bill weekly as we make progress with the vehicle goals.

  • Appointment slots for tuning require a nonrefundable 100.00 at booking.

If our shop is tuning your vehicle and it has one type of fuel, we require a 1/2 tank or more of gas

If our shop is tuning your vehicle and it has flex fuel, we require 1/3 - 1/2 or more tank of gas

Your vehicle must have a reliable battery. If your vehicle needs a new battery, please rectify that issue before bringing it in for your appointment.

Your vehicle is not serviceable if the gas and battery are not in the above conditions.

Higher horsepower vehicles with anticipated 800+ horsepower will need additional sensors to ensure component protection.
